How many of you use social media? Did you know that you can use it for more than socializing with your friends/family ?
Social Media isn’t new, in fact it has been around since the internet was introduced nearly 20 years ago. The very first social networking site was six degrees after being launched in 1997. Six Degree’s allowed users to create social circles. This pioneered the creation of other social networking sites such as
and many more that still use the same model today. Over the years, social media has changed the way we communicate and interact. Many people claim social media to be revolutionary but some would argue it to be evolutionary! Today, social media can be used for more than just socializing. Social Media can also be used as a marketing tool, and if done properly it can generate phenomenal results for your business/brand.

A transition from traditional marketing to digital marketing is ongoing, however, there are a ton of business owners who still aren’t taking advantage of it. Marketers realize that the more people spend their time online, the more traffic you can generate for many businesses.
Traditional marketing exposes your business to a limited number of people. Many complain about the interruption, a reason why most have figured out ways to avoid them. In addition, businesses dislike the idea of paying high amount and obtaining a low-rate of efficiency. A radio ad is estimated to costs between$300-$1000. If you are like me, I usually switch to different station to avoid it. A 30 second commercial on TV however cost between $200-$350,000. If you are a small business, marketing at this level would definitely be out of your budget. So, how can you develop the same results big companies receive?
Start using Digital marketing! Unlike traditional method, it offers a different approach; a brand becomes more popular when more people remain loyal. You can do this by offering less interruption and providing more value to the user. Understand consumer behavior by engaging directly with consumers and capitalizing on their suggestions. Did I mention it’s also cost effective? and provides better results? On average digital marketing agencies charge between $3,000-$20,000. But it can also depend on the service you want for your business.
If you are a business owner and still reject this idea, be prepared when more businesses start converting to digital marketing.
